Purchasing a piano privately?
Because we have seen so many people after they have suffered a financial loss by making a bad purchase, in recent years, we have become more proactive in helping our clients protect themselves by providing them with a used piano checklist.
USED PIANO CHECKLIST
- The piano has been inspected by a registered piano technician.
- You received a detailed report on the condition of these 5 important areas:
- Soundboard cracks
- Bridge cracks/ruptures
- Pinblock tightness
- Rim separation (grand) / Backframe splitting (uprights)
- Action bushings and regulation
- If this piano fails, you are able to financially absorb the loss. Sometimes an older piano is moved, it can suffer a structural failure because of an extreme change in humidity (we know because it has happened to us).
